Attempting to install a sound system for the 1st time!!!

Now I have one more question about matching sub to amp:
Lets say for example your amp handles 500W RMS power x 1 @ 2 ohms

if you have two speakers that handle up to 250 rms, will the power be divided by two

250 rms to each speaker?? that is wiring the two to output a 2 ohm impedance
Yes

I have encounter another problem yet again, I thought i had found the remote wire, but I didn't.

I cannot find a wire that goes from 12v to 0v when I turn off my HU. They only go off until I remove the key. This means that the amp will stay on even if the radio is off correct? And thats something we don't want correct?

Some head units have an antenna turn on wire and some of these will cut the power once the hu is turned off. The remote turn on will still have power so you can listen while the key is in the accessory position and the car not running. Once the key is turned off that's when you want 0v so it doesn't drain your battery.
