atomic 5k/no name amp

ok i know there is a thread somewhere, and i can take constructive criticism, i have not messed with controls since i got the amps from david moore, what you set the subsonic filter at, does it cut out anything be low that or is it above that, and same with the low pass.
this amp is not right for you.

wanna sell or do some trading with that amp pm me man let me know whats going on. thats alot of power for noobs, no disrespect, but ur only gonna **** it up down the line i know!

So by the wording of this let me get this straight.
You had a problem when the orion was in. You just checked the connections to make sure they were ok, and without fixing the problem you just went ahead and swapped the 5k in?

I checked all connections, reconnected all connections, and the amp went into protect. I then checked RCA's, and thought it was a ground loop problem, so I regrounded, put the 5k in and no problems, except for the fact that the 5k is still not as loud as the 300.

pioneer: man.. where the wires go into the amp terminals, they dont look safe at all. black tape the exposed wires up. swap decks, subs, amps, rcas, whatever until you find the problem; if you say both amps are similar in sound, more than likely it's not an amp problem. check your coils, the amps' controls, and redo your grounds.

when i had the orion, i went to go pop my back door, with the button, and as soon as i did that, the sub started doing full excursion, not to the rhythym or anything, so i hsut the radio off, turned it back on, checked all the conections and thats it. jus decided to put this amp in, and now i got this problem.

Maybe even just skip out on the second battery for now, you say you have a stock alt? Stock alt and 2 batteries can't be good, I'd say run your powerleads straight from your main battery and leave battery #2 out of the loop and see what you get?

i messed with the subsonic filtr and lowpass and it sounds alot better, hooked up my kicker crossover and its **** loud right now for an SQL sub, cant blow it so once coil got a lil warm i backed off, thanks for all the help.

You know you want 2 ss6500's to trade em!

But glad to see you got them working, deffiently keep an eye out on that pioneer deck, ive had SOO many problems with them (mainly the 7700model)

5k and you can't hook it up? do yourself a favor and send me the amp. It needs to be in someone's hands that actually knows how to hook up an amp and get it working.....

i think this thread is funny as hell. You have a 5,000wrms amp, a 1,000wrms sub, a stock alt, and 2 batteries. and you hook up the sub to the new amp and you don't even think to change the filters on the amp?

i think the stock alt with a 5000 watt amp is the best though.
