ok so i picked one of these up from teamPSI, and i have a fi q 15 dual 2 hooked up at 1 ohm to the amp, which shud be 5000 at 14.4 at 1 ohm. the q is in a 4.5 cubes at 35 hz. i have two runs going to the amp of power and two grounds going to the amp. i have one oddyssey PC2250 as a batt in the back, and stock alt. the thing is not very loud at all. honestly my 300 watt orion cobalt amp was louder than this thing, and that was at 4 ohms, while the 1 is sending the sub a 1 ohm load, what cud be the problem, i know its not as loud as it shud be.

i swapped out the orion for this, and me being my stupid self hooked up the rcas first and blew the pre outs on my pio deck. but i regrounded the pr outs and those are fine, and the first time i tried hooking up this amp i did everything correctly with the same effect. i actually bought two from him, swapped them out for each other, and both sound around the same.

Has anybody else got a chance to use the other amps they got from him?

Everything else being the same, I would think it has something to do with the rca's. Have you tried swapping the orion back in to eliminate any connections problems?

when i had the orion, i went to go pop my back door, with the button, and as soon as i did that, the sub started doing full excursion, not to the rhythym or anything, so i hsut the radio off, turned it back on, checked all the conections and thats it. jus decided to put this amp in, and now i got this problem.

It sounds like you popped something for sure. I would swap the orion back in just to make sure. If that doesnt work than you know its not the amp.

Also it doesnt sound like ur electrical is good enough. Remeber each amplifier has a different efficiantcy. So it could be the Orion was alot more efficiant (wouldn't suprise me since u were running at 4 ohms too). And your electrical is just not being able to keep up with the demand for current.
