atomic 5k/no name amp

Thats why people should have to take a class to buy anything larger than 2000rms

I couldnt AGREE more.

Also to buy a sub that will take 1000rms or more.

Its CRAZY to see people buy a 2000rms sub and put a 500rms amp on it and say its teh subs fault why it aint loud.

cant i do what i want with my money? thats not the point anyways here, youre a ****in part of team maxxsonics, i guess im just a noob with some questions, post a *****ing thread to complain about noobs, dont do it here

That is a terrible electrical connection, FYI. Definably work on that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But... even with a terrible connection that thing still should be WAY more power than the Orion. Have you made sure that the subsonic isn't all the way up and that the LPF is set properly? Not to insult you... but I have had tech support calls and the customer had the subsonic UP and the LPF DOWN all the way... almost no output AT ALL.

ok i know there is a thread somewhere, and i can take constructive criticism, i have not messed with controls since i got the amps from david moore, what you set the subsonic filter at, does it cut out anything be low that or is it above that, and same with the low pass.

yes i know its a ****in mess but i cant stand taking my time when im getting all sweaty and pissed off and shit so i jus throw it all together, that be the outcome.

The subsonic cuts frequencies "under" it, turn that all the way DOWN to 10 Hz (or whatever the lowest is on that model). Never have this all the way up or you won't hear much bass at all.

The LPF cuts frequencies "above" it, turn that one about half way up... that should get you around 80 Hz or so on that amp. Just don't have it all the way down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

w0w.

WTF u doin puttin 5000rms on a Q anyways?

thats wtf i wanna know too......i mean sure you can upgrade to a bigger sub down the line...but wow.

even though its messy im sure there's decent enough connection to get power going (but still go back and double check all the connections as well as clean it up. if you dont clean it now you never will later....i know this).

could probly be something with the signal input side. try new (or just other) rca's and check those amp settings. if still nothing then try turning the gain up more, maybe the preout voltage of the deck isnt very high and you need the gain up. if the gain is up high and still nothing, it's either the amp or the signal to the amp. get a multi meter and test the voltage of the preamp signal from where it leaves the deck all the way to where the rca inputs prongs touch the circuit board and see if voltage is getting to the board.

very well may be a defective amp...........but way more often then not it's something minor that can be fixed after you dig into it. also dave is a great seller so if he didnt have nay problems with the amp beforehand it should be a good amp.

the q is my gfs, i was testing the sub on it cus i got the sub two days ago, hr nine.1 is on the way, good way to test the amps i got and sub at the same time.

when i had the orion, i went to go pop my back door, with the button, and as soon as i did that, the sub started doing full excursion, not to the rhythym or anything, so i hsut the radio off, turned it back on, checked all the conections and thats it. jus decided to put this amp in, and now i got this problem.
So by the wording of this let me get this straight.

You had a problem when the orion was in. You just checked the connections to make sure they were ok, and without fixing the problem you just went ahead and swapped the 5k in?
