** Asking for opinions on CompVR & Lightning Audio **

Because of my limited mounting depth, I am considering putting 2 10" CompVRs (the new VR, not the old) in my truck. I have heard some good things about them, especially that they are a "excellent bang for your buck sub" with some clean response. I know that many on here do not like the "commercialized" brands (i.e. Kicker, RF, etc.) but I am asking those who have heard these (and I mean actually heard them, not just saw someone bumping down the street with tehm) to give some beneficial feedback for me.

Also, I am considering pushing them with a Lightning Audio S2.800.4 amp (the one where the cap plugs into the side of the amp) which will not only push the subs, but push my high end as well. Does anyone have experience with Lightning Audio amps, or this particular product?

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, even if you have compared the VR to another speaker and prefer the other speaker, I would like to hear about that as well. I am trying to gather as much information as possible before making my final decision. Thanks to all, in advance, for the help!

Siounds like a nice setup.....I have been pleased with Kicker overall so its a good brand from my point of view.....L. Audio, u might wanna look @ another amp. How much ru paying for this amp???

Why do you suggest looking at another amp? Any particular reasons? I have heard some good things about Lightning Audio, especially regarding the cap that plugs directly into the side of the amp alleviating any possible power loss. Do you know of any other amps that would be capable of pushing both my subs and highs with clean power?

What, no more Brahma?? That's a big step down! The Comp VR's are a decent sub, and as you mentioned a good sub for your money. They have a tendancy to be boomey, though. If you have a high noise floor, this can be a good thing. Another good thing about the VR's is that they perform well w/ not a lot of power. Lightning Audio amps are fine, and with a well performed install you won't be able to tell the difference between them and some $1000 amps. Speakers are more important, IMO.
