Well, the new project underway, I should make a new thread or change the title, eh?

I ordered more batteires, 2 more d31a's, and a redtop, so 4 batteries, may need more.

Anyways this is what I am going to be doing in preperation of the stronger system:

Electrical upgrade, all wiring purchased/batteries puchased-

Beef up the baffle with more glass and two by fours-

Redoing the port, will not be sealed as described before-

Get the **** speaker, 18" LMS 5400, I went ahead and ordered it, it'll be in two weeks? Cost me $875-

Wait on the amps, getting two 3000's, will be 2 months before I have the money for both, and they wont be out for a month anyway.

I've just designed the port, I used up all the room I had for it, no way to get any larger than this: I have two mock ups, either one will work. The box will be tuned around 35hz-

I had to replace a worn out motor mount, so instead of going stock, I replaced it with a urethane motor mount...

Here I have the old battery removed, will be replaced with a redtop. I started to solder some crimp terminals on the wires, and sanded them in prep befoer the battery goes in.

Wait so you did all that work, got the sub in, and damaged it during testing? And instead of just buying a new sub and setting the SSF you're going to completely redesign everything?

No, not really, I redesigned the port for the new sub. The old one was kinda small and tuned wayyy low. I am gutting it and building a new port in place, to fit in the same area. This time its tuned higher and is larger. The only other change to the box is I have to open the cutout for the sub some more. That and I am beefing up the baffle/box. With the new sub, I need more power, so I sold my old amp.

I'm also trying to get rid of the ava, but looks like I'll have to recone it. They don't make the avalanche anymore, and AA has been changing over to a larger shop/ect, so I wasn't sure where to go for the repair, I'm getting it done at fi when I get the chance.

But I guess I'm doing it because I want more out of this system in the first place. If I was completely satisfied I probably would have just reconed the subwoofer. You can thank stratus01rt for putting these ideas in my head =p.

Oh ok that's not as major a change as I thought from reading your last few posts...more of like a slight change and big equipment upgrade. Should be awesome when it's done, amazing job so far.

They came with the car, those are factory mounts.
