i have my sub done....
please suggest very nice front speakers... 100w RMS at least....the ones you showed are good, but will they last like kickers?
my buddy keeps saying to get my speakers enclosed to stop rattle
is there ANYTHING i can do with rear? or just forget about em totally... not that i want a loud quality system for both front and back seat passengers.
im also interested in getting identical comp speakers for both front and back... good idea?
You already have an amp for your front stage?? I thought you were looking at buying the Kicker amp in your first post.
That headunit is fine. Excelon HUs are quality equipment. I just prefer Alpine as a personal taste.
Kicker products are well-made, but I would never buy a component set from them. The only one I would even consider is the SS series, but you can get much better for the cost.
Again, RMS spec DOES NOT MATTER for components. I don't care if you have 1000w on tap, you can set the gains to provide the right amount of power for the speakers you choose. Plus, music is dynamic, so you won't be sending full power to the comps in a constant stream. Very rarely will they see full power.
You CAN put in some rear fill, but there really is no point. It costs more money, requires more power, and will actually be detrimental to your sound. Using rear fill will pull the sound stage back, ruining the stage for front passengers. Just ditch them and be done with it. A single good comp set will sound better, be cheaper, pull less current, and still get more than loud enough to please any rear passengers.
As far as your friend's enclosure suggestion goes, I really don't know what he has in mind. You don't build enclosures for front stage speakers. The only way to stop rattles is to deaden the area.
I'll be on for about 15 more min if you have any more questions. Otherwise, I'll get to it after work tomorrow.
