The HU im getting attaches to the ipod through the USB. Im not interested in controlling the Ipod from the dash itself

I think the 891 is just the newer version of the 890. I don't know if it's actually better or not.

Yellow Tops are good. Otherwise, Stinger, Deka, Kinetic, and several other companies make great dry cell deep cycles.

And for a replacement for your stock battery, Duramax Gold batteries from Autozone have better specs than Optima Red Tops (at least for my old truck).
