Are these speakers worth it?

ok thats all i need to know...
Bobby... on another thread, some guy said that my amp will murder the speakers...

does he mean that in a good way?

this is what he said
The amp is rated 120 x 4 at 4 ohms. Set your gain correctly and it'll be fine.

The guy you're talking about is iamamp3pimp. He knows his stuff and has basically the same car as you so he can really help you out with specifics.

I've been skipping back and forth to this thread from other threads for the last while. My memory isn't the best anymore but I don't think I'm lazy. Please correct the uninformed opinions I've given him so he can make a better decision. It won't hurt my feelings a bit and I might learn something in the process. I told him most people on here know more than me via pm.
I apologize Bobby, I am used to gaming forums where the average age is 13 and you have to act accordingly to survive, my attack was completely un-warranted and I apologize for it. And as I said in my last post, I think that Hintz hit it spot-on with his recommendations.

Sorry,

Apology accepted. Forget about it man.

If i get circuit city to wire it, im sure they will do it correctly...

btw, a friend said if i get my back speakers enclosed then they wont blow the subs out of em... is this true?

Never get anything done by a big box store. I've seen more Circuit City and Best Buy fuckups than I care to think about. It's not that hard to do it on your own, but if you MUST have someone else do the work, have a real audio shop do it. It will cost more, but it will get done right.

I have no idea what you are talking about in the second part of this post.

And again just ditch the rear speakers. You don't need them. Unplug them and just use the fronts.

but what u suggest would mean i need to get a new amp as well........

god this is confusing

i really want kickers cause i hear they are quality....

i def want this headunit

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=18336

i have my sub done....

please suggest very nice front speakers... 100w RMS at least....the ones you showed are good, but will they last like kickers?

my buddy keeps saying to get my speakers enclosed to stop rattle

is there ANYTHING i can do with rear? or just forget about em totally... not that i want a loud quality system for both front and back seat passengers.

im also interested in getting identical comp speakers for both front and back... good idea?

true but you do not need real fill just take em out and you will actually hear a difference in loudness

im so confused guys...

so 2 100w speakers in the back, that were made for rear speakers, are not good?

that doesnt make sense

how can 2 front speakers keep up with a crazy powerful sub in the back? i want to hear my music as well

You already have an amp for your front stage?? I thought you were looking at buying the Kicker amp in your first post.

That headunit is fine. Excelon HUs are quality equipment. I just prefer Alpine as a personal taste.

Kicker products are well-made, but I would never buy a component set from them. The only one I would even consider is the SS series, but you can get much better for the cost.

Again, RMS spec DOES NOT MATTER for components. I don't care if you have 1000w on tap, you can set the gains to provide the right amount of power for the speakers you choose. Plus, music is dynamic, so you won't be sending full power to the comps in a constant stream. Very rarely will they see full power.

You CAN put in some rear fill, but there really is no point. It costs more money, requires more power, and will actually be detrimental to your sound. Using rear fill will pull the sound stage back, ruining the stage for front passengers. Just ditch them and be done with it. A single good comp set will sound better, be cheaper, pull less current, and still get more than loud enough to please any rear passengers.

As far as your friend's enclosure suggestion goes, I really don't know what he has in mind. You don't build enclosures for front stage speakers. The only way to stop rattles is to deaden the area.

I'll be on for about 15 more min if you have any more questions. Otherwise, I'll get to it after work tomorrow.

You will have no trouble hearing your music with a good set of comps. And, contrary to what you may think, you do NOT have crazy powerful subs. You have 2 fairly mediocre Infinity woofers on no more than 250 watts each. You really don't have much for your components to keep up with.

I can almost guarantee that the moment you get a good set of comps installed, you will want to upgrade your substage.

im starting to like your idea...

so you can assure me that getting those 2 front comp speakers and that amp plus the mat will be a LOT better than the system i was gonna get right?

what will i need to mat down? will the roll do the trunk and doors?

trust me i have a fi on 1100 watts

and two memphis m-class 5.25 on around 60 watts a piece and the keep up fine and are decently loud you can hear them pretty far away and are clear

ok, well the ones he suggested are only 50w, should i look for higher?

i want BAD *** comp speakers if im not gonna get back ones....

i just still find this so confusing that its better to not have more speakers in the back...

more is better usually, doesnt make any sense

ok so you say go with those speakers and the amp you suggested and just forget about back speakers altogether? how can front speakers get loud by themselves? i want the back seat people to get just as good of music as the front seat people. i want this thing to really crank out the tunes when the windows are down, so i can play for a party or w/e

Your stock speakers are getting maybe 10w apiece right now, and I doubt those are even having much trouble keeping up with that small soundstage. Trust me, you will be more than fine with one good set. Plenty of people on here have ditched rear fill will great results and much more powerful substages. As long as the equipment is installed right, I can guarantee you will be pleased. Be sure to check out the sticky in the speaker section about how to properly deaden your doors.

Those Pioneers are much better comps than the Kickers. Retail cost is over $400, and they sound as good or better than speakers costing several times more.

I think one roll should be enough to do the trunk and doors. If you do run short, people are always selling leftover deadening in the classifieds.
