OK i got my New aftermarket CD player which is a Pioneer 6000

Now i go there the first time and the guy gets me to buy an install kit(Which i do not need for a 1999 ford mustang without the mach 460 system) but he SWEARS that i need it. and a wiring harness there is for a ford 85 and up. i get home get my buddies help and find out the wiring harness is the wrong one and the install kit isn't needed at all. So the next day i go back and bring bother back. i talk to a different guy this time that's worked there for three years, he tells me "This" one is the correct one. So i buy it go back home and take everything out, look around and don't see where the speaker plug goes. So i drive over to our local custom car audio store and ask them before i take it back. He says its the wrong one again!

So he just tell me to wait till tomorrow and hell have the correct part in for me then.

Conclusion: Best buy hires Idiots.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

BTW: if anyone has owned a 1999 mustang without the mach audio system and has installed an aftermarket system, please let me know i have a question.

Best buy should not even represent car audio PERIOD. all there installers by me **** also. anytime i have heard anything go there audio wise to be fixed or wired up it always comes back fcked up. same as circuit city.

I tend to lean more towards CC than BB in regards to car audio. I won't buy anything though. Just window shop and talk to the installers and see what they're working on.

I mean seriously do you need anything to work at the best buy car audio dept.? Such as a degree? or are they just taking floor workers and showing them what +/- means?

I guess he expected the experts at BestBuy to know //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

i got a 2000 mustang, and i installed the cd player myself, what question do you have?
What harness did you use?

Metra 70-5511? (I've memoized this fcuking part)

Because that's what they gave me the second time And the long piece DOES fit ( Which powers the dash.) But the square black plug with the four prongs( for rear and door panel speakers) didn't. it looked like it did but when i hooked it all up, it didn't plug all the way in, so i ended up pushing it and one of the prongs popped out the back of the harness piece.( And its not that the prongs were blocking the slots they go into[or the other way around]) So i pushed it back up. the display works perfectly just there's no sound at all. at that point i figured i blew something so i unhooked everything and plugged in the factory tape and cd player. Sounds perfect. So at this point i figure it has something to do with the Factory Amp, But i dont see how the factory amp could be blocking the sound. But yeah i gave up after 3 hours //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif Never had this much problem installing a CD player before ( **** you ford.)

I dont have the Mach factory sound system btw.

BTW: Who ever bought the install tools :p Wire coat hangers are cheaper.
