Are my subs blown?

I duno my friend had the same problem and he said he fixed it by installing a capacitor. I don't see how it would hurt anything. My lights dim only on big bass hits so i dont see what storing a little power when there is some being unused and using it towards those bass hits can hurt.
You go ahead and do that then since you know everything. It's people like you that cause so much flaming on this forum and i usually don't flame people but your making it really hard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Yeah ^ i guess this guy asked for all that flaming too by asking how to install something right? Yeah, some of you guys are helpful and give helpful advice (jay and the rest of the people on my first page of posting) but a lot of you just give people a hard time and rip on anyone who didnt spend a fortune on their system or is inexperienced. Of all the boards ive ever posted on this is one of the most sarcastic and unhelpful ones ive experienced. Anyways i think ive got what little information i could possibly get from this forum. Best of luck. To those of you who actually gave good information and helped me out during my installation, thanks a lot! To the rest of you, grow up.

Everything I've told you is good info, the problem is you just don't want to listen like 3/4 of noobs that come here or to any other forum. I to was getting extreme dimming on hard bass notes with only an 800 watt amplifier. My truck is brand new so I knew if wasn't the alternator or battery but what I found was that my stock wiring going from my battery to alternator was ridiculously small. So I did the big 3 upgrade and ran bigger wire from my battery to alternator, battery ground to chassis and engine block to chassis. Problem solved after this upgrade and you know how much it cost me, about $20 for the 4 gauge wiring and connectors and sleeving to make everything look good and clean. So your theory about telling people to spend a fortune doesn't really hold much truth around here. In fact most everybody on this forum flames the little jl fanboys that come on here talking about how much they spent. This place is much more about the little brands that cost half as much and sound twice as good. Hope you have fun with your little pity party on whatever forum you find thats going to tell you what you want to hear and in your case thats going to be a big shiny capacitor will fix all your problems. Make sure to get the ones with the digital lcd displays cause those give you at least 3 dbs over the regular caps.

Well i just installed one of those shiny capacitors yesturday and look at this... no dimming at all with subs more powerful than my originals. And yes, it does have a LCD display.

I further point out the fact that this forum is just a bunch of idiots who have no idea what they're talking about. My brother in law who is an engineer urged me install one, as well as all my friends, and my mechanic. Why i listened to you guys over them i have no clue.
