just as the title says, i want to know if my calculations are correct.

i am building a box for 3 12" jl audio w'6s.

the jl site reccomends the box that is 17" x 12" x 16.5". the port would be 1.25" x 10.5" x 25.5" making the face of the port 13.125: squared.

any ways if im not mistaken, A= PI x RADIUS squared . i know the area is 13.125" so this makes the equation 13.125= 3.14 x (X)squared... so if i take 13.125 and devide it by PI (3.14) that would give me 4.18. then if i find the square root of 4.18 that would give me appox 2.045 inches for the radius, making the diameter of the pipe 4.18"... in short, what i want to know is if 3 pieces of pipe 4" in diameter and 25" long will work for a box for 3 jl w6's, thanks

hello, can anyone help me???, i also need to know if it okay to all 3 subs in one chamber

wow, i botched that statement, what i ment was is it okay to put all three subs in the same chamber? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

4" pipe is 12.56in^2(which u already knew).....changing the port area will also change the length....so the 25.5" won't give the same tuning...u might want to PM jmac..he's got bbp6..maybe he can help ya on the length with the round ports..

also, u can share chambers....just make sure u brace the box and include the bracing when u figure internal volume...word of caution..by sharing chambers u increase the risk of taking out all ur subs if one was to blow...it's rare in a daily driver but can happen...

hope that helps some..
