Are my amp and sub compatable?

I just purchased a SA-E15D2 sub. and have an amp that puts out 320rms. LAME!! So, I am looking at getting an amp that can power the sub well. I am looking at this: HIFONICS BRUTUS BRZ1200.1D 1200W MONO D. Is this a good amp for my sub? Is there something else you all would recomend??

THANKS!

ok, so, just run it on a lower gain setting tho, right?? Also, I plan on getting another 15 later. Anything else in that price range, that would give me the best for my sub??

Absolutely correct, you can just set the gain more conservatively. If you're looking to get another sub to add though, you need to be buying a D4, not a D2. A single D2 gives you the 1 ohm load now, but a pair gives you a .5 or 2 ohm load. Whereas a single D4 gives you a 2ohm load now, which is ideal for the extra power you would have on tap. And when you get a second one, it gives you that perfect 1ohm load down the line. And while I personally wouldn't want to buy that amp, it will work for what you need. I'm just not a Hifonics guy. I'd much rather get something of better quality used. Or if buying new was a silly necessity, I'd look into the AQ1200: AQ1200D Amplifier

@mylow10: well, i just dropped $130 into my D2. Im not to big on spending too much more money. So, I'm just setting up my system for the best possible spl, with my current 320w amp. and getting money saved for a larget amp. As a side note, I will be installing this into either a Pontiac Vibe or Toyota Matrix. If anyone on here has that car, PLEASE let me know so I can view their setup! Thanks

@TheUnderFighter: How loud could I get this single D2 15? First, how, if differently at all, would I wire my 320w amp to this sub? Second, how loud, with the correct amp, could I get the d2? Thanks

Ok, so just how exactly would i wire that?? Here are the specs for my amp: 320W peak output @ 1% THD, bridged

310W peak x 2 @ 2 ohms; 220W peak x 2 @ 4 ohms

155W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 2 ohms; 110W RMS (continuous) x 2 @ 4 ohms

Adjustable 40-250Hz low-pass crossover

Platinum-plated RCA connection

Line-out

System distress indicator

ok, so positive from ampt to positive of sub, then ground from amp to opposite neg. of sub?? and what is the 1ohm meaning to me as far as sound, or is it just power?
total output is determined by the impedance load placed on the amp the higher the load the better the amp will do as far as heat and power consumption but it will put out less power overall and the lower impedance will cause the amp to dump more power at a faster rate and usually a small rise in distortion but not enough to hear.

ok, i get the first part, but sub 1 and 2? as in, if I get another 15?
just realized your only running one sub I thought you already had the other in as well, I think where all off page so single d4 sub total ohm load of 2ohms and a second sub would drop you to 1ohm. I think we all where under the impression there was a second sub after the conversation took that turn.
