Are line drivers worth it?

different thread! i wanna know about line drivers! i believe you! i said i believed you! i just wanna know about having them in separate enclosures.. two in the back one in the console..
You wanna know about line drivers? Read this: http://stason.org/TULARC/entertainment/audio/car/3-31-What-is-a-Line-Driver-Do-I-need-one-LC-IDB.html

If you're going to run different sized subs, it would be beneficial to have each one housed within it's own enclosure and powered by it's own amplifier(or in the very least, it's own channel of an amplifier). That wouldn't damage any of the equipment, but there's still no reason to do it. No reason at all...

you have 4 subs and you are looking for sound quality ?

A line driver will not help SQ, it will help raise your signal which might be useful if you are picking up noise. It also might allow you to turn your amp gains down if you are having problems with hiss.

I consider it a nifty little 'just so I can say I have it' feature if it happens to be bundled into some other processor or EQ I'm interested in. Otherwise I'm happy with my 5 volt head unit.

no to 2 differnt size subs in same system!

line driver maybe, depends on current voltage you are feeding your amps, and how high your gains are set, 5 volt or more currently you would not see a difference, but a typical 2-3 volt output deck, yes it would be worth it, plu if use multiple amps, splitting the signal, then a line driver used and tuned correctly would make a BIG difference.
