Are Digital Designs subs worth the price??

exactly my point, i honestly feel that if you dont compete, meter often, or are chasing numbers they are almost worthless for a strictly daily sub, alot of subs can get just as loud to the ear and cost less..Hell if you enjoy the sound of DD get Audioque my old school HD3 wangs, and it was less then half the cost of a DD9500 series sub
My HDC3 10's sounded exactly like my 9512's.

But everyone swore up and down they arent the same.

What size hd3 do you have?

I had my BTL 15's on 2 4500's for a couple months. Did just fine, direct swap to the crossfire XS v.2 and doubled my power and they do just fine as well/
were the btls louder then the crossfires xs. which one did u like more?

Hmm , Well this kind of makes me wanna try them out.. Bizzle or twisted ( or any other owners ) Can either of you let me know what a 3515 and 3512 might go for .. ? I KNOW there are no dealers anywhere near me , so whatever direct pricing would be..

Like I said Ive owned quite a few ID subs , except DD and have always wanted to try them out, BUt only if they are going to really have the wow factor.. I mean with lvl 4s , and even Sundown SAs providing so much value for cheap its tought to pay ( probably double?? ) that for big DD name

But.... Im still interested //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

With all the ID companies out today DD is still holding strong, and is once again on top in the lanes.. But my question is.. Are they worth it? I mean Musically and daily setups is what Im looking for with about 5 shows per year for competitions .. SO how does the DD 3500 line compare with others in its class
RE SX

DC lvl 4

FI SSD

Sundown Z series

etc etc

and all the other 1k RMS subs out there.. Ive owned most of the good ID brands out there, but never a DD, and it is very tempting..
i play white girlwith 3krms+ on tap with my 9515g tuned to 40hz and my sub doesnt rip apartfrom playing well below tuning

the sound of thier subs is unique and some people like the way they sound and some dont but the quality of the parts and the workmanship does set them apart and i think they have good CS i didnt have an issue acquiring my first recone from them just had to prove i had the motor.

Where did I say I never owned any?????I have owned a 9515g, 3515D, and a pair of 2510's, all of which I purchased used, because the new prices did not tickle my fancy, If you can find a deal on sum used then jump on them, u see so many for sell and so many motors you would think they sucked.lol
so since we always see sundown amps for sale its safe to assume they ****...... your logic is flawed but i agree retail prices are a bit steep used prices for DD equip are good and soft parts are cheap

i have been using a 9515G for a while

sounds good on music

meters well

never stinks

i have beat the shi t out of it with a hifonics maxximus, saz 3500, 2 1500 saz strapped, 1 saz 1500, 1 saz 3000, 1 saz 2000, and it is still going strong

standard cone and cap

roughly $700 shipped for 1 15"

and used they sell for 1/2 of what they sell for new

i was quoted by steve direct from dd 636 plus ship for a single dd3510

I like my 3518 on my saz-4500 will get a vid up in the next day or so it is hanging in there fine tuned at 33 hz my btl lasted a night on that amp.
Do it, and show that flex.

I witnessed his 3518 a few days ago, sounded good, deeper than my sdcs but didn't sound as good as DC lvl 3s to me. The excursion on the sub was insane and the it was moving a good amount of air.

New? No, not to me.
Used on the forums? Possibly.
I agree....i would NEVER buy new

Very well built subs...one of my buddy's 9515's has had coil rub for like 4 years....still gets down and takes *** loads of power! And he's tuned to 39hz and can play "i cook" super screwed flawlessly !(23hz)

i loved my 9515g once they broke in it sounded amazing and would handle alot...we have done alot of installs with dd subs and i have been impressed with all of them but i can tell you one thing if you got them in to small of a box the do sound like shit but if they are in the right box the are very impressive
