AQ pre production 2.5 sub

thanks DJ. If you don't mind discussing. How big is the magnet on the new 2.5's and the HDC18. And if you don't want to tell weight on the 2.5's. how does it compare to the old 2.5's.

The new SDC2.5 will have bigger magnets then the present model. The weight will be published along with the TS specs when we test the production subs at random in house. The basket is a modified "off the shelf design'' and works very well with the suspension/motor design. The sub was designed to run in pairs with the AQ1200D amplifier for daily drivers. A pair will also burp very nice on the AQ2200D .

The HDC318 will use the same motor as all the subs in the HDC series. The suspension and basket design will be quite a bit diff.

hmmm you prob don't want to tell. But is the magnet assembly close to the same size as the old 2.5's a good amount bigger. sorry for prying. Also I might have missed it but what ohm options will there be . sorry again. And appreciate it DJ. now dam*it aren't you suppose to be spending time with somebody it is xmas. merry xmas

We had an early xmas with all the extended family this past weekend. We try to get together on the weekend before xmas because some of the family members have a business to run.

Had a great time with the grand kids but they wore this old man out. One of my grandsons just turned 16 and bought a 2002 Chev Ext Cab; scares me to death about him driving already but he's a good level headed young man and earned most of the truck money. I've been teaching him how to build his own subs, box and install. He is already pretty good at building subs but needs a little help on the box designs and install work. He doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and keeps his grades up so what more can you ask.

The magnets on the SDC2.5 are getting a 30 oz increase to 130 ozs. Dual 4 ohm coils for the time being.

Are the box specs going to remain the same? Reason i ask is im going to be making a box within the next week for 2 12s for either the new or old 2.5s.

Will the HDc3 18"er be available with copper coils? And what is the difference in the softparts with the "normal" HDC3's and the new 18"er?

The HDC318 will come with choice of D1 or D2 copper coils and larger spiders with diff spider materials.
