apxx 18, 5k daily???

It could... but it is really going to depend on the efficiency of your enclosure, and how clean of a signal you are sending to it... when you get up to that high of power on a single sub, every little variable comes into play

if ur amp is set rite and box is good you should be fine if you got the voltage. post pix when ya get //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You'll blow it up fast if you're not very careful. There isn't a conventional woofer on the planet that can handle 5000W of heat for more than a couple minutes. I suspect if you don't play below tuning mechanically it should hold up fine.

I know a guy that runs single subs off his 5K and he has blown everything we have put on it.

there are plenty that will take a 5k watt amplifier just depends on other factors bringing the power down. I ran a z1 at .37 to a shocker sig for months no problem.

OP you have to remember that if it's for daily, music is dynamic and the chances of that sub seeing the full 5k after box rise and such is second to none. Honestly if it's for a daily setup, the audible difference between 4500 and 5k will be minimal. Personally I would set gains for 4500w and call it a day. Any more and you don't really gain much by ear and just heat up the sub more.

what impedance wull you be running it at?
what kind of electrical to back it up?

what's your enclosure volume after displacements?
.5 ohms

dc power 270 amp alt, xs d6500 under the hood, twin kinetik hc2000's in the cab, double runs of zero ga. power and ground....

and I beleive it is about 7 cu ft after displacement

There is a difference between hooking a 5kw amp to a speaker, and actually running 5kw through said speaker for a prolonged period of time. If you want to say your speaker is handling your 5kw amp, but then discuss things like impedance variations (rise) or charging systems that limit the amplifier output, you cannot say your sub is actually handling 5kw.
