There is a difference between hooking a 5kw amp to a speaker, and actually running 5kw through said speaker for a prolonged period of time. If you want to say your speaker is handling your 5kw amp, but then discuss things like impedance variations (rise) or charging systems that limit the amplifier output, you cannot say your sub is actually handling 5kw.
