Exactly. Really the entire amp case is the heatsink, but you need surface area in order to disperse heat. That is why there are so many fins on CPU heatsinks. Wherever you can get air moving across the most amount of surface area is going to exchange the most amount of heat. This is found on the fins that are typically on both sides of the amp, or down the middle as well. The bottom will help, but usually there isn't much heat transfer there as those are thin pieces of metal that don't have much of a coupling to the main case. Really though this time of year you shouldn't have to worry too much about heat as long as you have some type of airflow.
