Anyones system sound different some days?

I noticed it depends how awake, hungover, tired I am. Also I notice in the cold it doesnt sound the same either...
Exactly man. I just seem to hear more distortion some times, at the same volume. I notice on real sunny warm days it always sounds perfect though. It's like my system is tuned to sound it's absolute best during warm weather.

the cold plays a part for both your ears, the air, and the subs. moisture can effect the sound too. remember, sound waves move through air; air that can change in a bunch of ways.

heck it can sound different from during the day to at night sometimes

Believe it or not, the way we perceive things is heavily influenced by external and internal forces. Even down to simple things such as the subject of this thread. What it comes down to is the way in which the brain subconsciously prioritizes tasks within our everyday life.

if you're interested in how temperature and humidity affects sound transmission loss through air, i can probably find electronic versions of the tables. they are measured in dB/100m and there is virtually no attenuation below 250Hz. higher frequencies are affected slightly... a few dB over 100m.

the biggest issue is recorded music. every album, every track, sounds different. a great system will make those recording flaws very obvious. it sucks. albums you like may sound like shyt on a good system.

I have noticed temperature plays a big role in how my system sounds as well. During a sunny day listening to some low hitting songs it feels as if my truck is going to fall apart from all the flex. But when its cold outside and the air is humid there is very little flex. But I don't notice anything with my mids or highs.

^That's a good way to look at it. ^

And i agree that time of the day and weather changes the way the brain perceives music. I noticed that on ugly rainy days my system doesn't sound as good. srs.

i personally think the speakers are too close to make a real difference, with sound changes. now if it were extremely hot then i think resistance might rise to the point where less power makes an audible difference. I haven't tested subs in extreme cold so im not sure how they would be affected. to me i can't say sometimes it sounds better, just hasn't occurred. What i do notice is when i first install/upgrade i'm never happy. I always feel like it should sound better. Then i start to really listen and start to pick out things that sound better than before, then im satisfied.

I listen to a very wide variety of music and yes i will say my system sounds different but thats due to recording.

some songs lack mid-range, some vocals, some bass, some have too much mid/bass/highs, some sounds distorted(intended to).
