What if I tell you people that enclosure design is more important?

This. Done. I doubt the OP has his subs in a proper box. I think a new box would make more of a difference than new subs.

The new R's have pretty loose suspension and actually do hit lows fairly well. Friend had them in a box tuned to 34-35hz and it still hit lows pretty well.

Why's that? We installed a pair in my friends car tuned lower than that with no problems.

No. I know how important the enclosure is that's why I just asked about one. I no longer even have subs in my car that is why I'm asking for reccomendations on a new one.

mobilesoundworks.com has decent prefab ported boxes if you buy prefab otherwise one of the guys on here can build you a really nice box for a decent price
