Hey guys, Im not a real big member on CA, but I did support Kenny's scammer problem by posting a link to the Wheel and Tire section of my car audio fourm "Sound Decisions" which admittedly is more geared to SPL & compeition, and not modding vehicles (in relation to Kenny's rims).....so anyways you can probably understand when I recieved this email today in my general site email account from Ladd Murdock himself. Funny thing is, I forgot all about this thread on my site, until this email. OK, I had resisted posting this since the beginning of this forum, but now, the humor is beyond ignoring.

In a nut-shell, this guy posts eBay ad's selling wheels. He goes out of the eBay rules and states in his ad's that you can contact him outside of eBay to "make another deal" (which is against eBay rules).

So, this kid, Kenny, "made a deal" and was properly billed for his order, but well after his payment went through, Ladd Murdock contacted him asking for more money, for what he called "tax", but he wanted a different payment method and different payee name from the original bill. Not fishy -- this is a SCAM.

This dim-witted scammer proceeds to degrade the customer and even posts an eBay ad with the CUSTOMER's personal home address and credit card information, along with stating he'll give the winner of the auction (thief) the key to the product the customer bought, to anyone who wants to steal it.

This is his retaliation for the customer questioning the legality of having to pay his sales tax when the purchase was made out-of-state. So, Ladd, of wholesale-rims makes up stories about his relatives in the FBI, who will bring the customer to his knees if he doesn't submit, and more stories about filing investigations with his local law authorities and legal "teams" against his teen-age customer. I actually hurt in my side from laughing so much.

He claims to be a 32-year-old professional business-man, but from reading through the thread, all I see him as, is a clown.

But, he is ripping people off, so this needs to be spread around. Con's need no mobility.

And, that's not the best part of this story. The con, is such an outrageous freak of civility, that you can't help but to be amazed and humored. A person like that ends up on front-page news, but not because of their accomplishments -- because of their disconnect from the thing that makes them so ... well... f'ing weird!

Alright guys, resurrecting this topic because it's not over I'll post the last few emails between us. Ladd sent me this out of the blue because I guess my website has been effecting his sales, and I guess eBay is taking care of this clown...

Kenny, This is Ladd Murdock. I just wanted to send you an email and personally apologize for anything which I have done or said to you or your family which has offended you. I also know it wasn't right for my buddy to post that information on ebay, but please understand it was only done out of retaliation after we realized you posted my personal information and rude things about our company which offended me. The only reason I contacted the local authorities is because you had different people contacting my company who were harassing me and my company saying threatening things. I know you felt strongly about not paying a sales tax for your order, but please understand I have received "2 different stories" from people here in Utah. One person has stated that if my company claims all of our orders and sales to the government and we claim a certain itemized line on our taxes, that we should also charge a sales tax on these orders which we are paying the state for. Another person told me that it wasn't necessary to charge a sales tax to outside residents, and only to inside residents. I also had a gentlemen contact me the other day stating that Utah has been pushing for an internet tax law to go through, and soon we will be required "by law" to charge taxes on all orders, no choice either way. I feel that we were probably given some early inaccurate information about taxes from the person from the state who misinformed us about how we needed to charge a sales tax, and obviously it was someone who was pushing for that new internet tax law to go through. I just assumed that it was better to charge it then to be audited and find out later that I was fined and in trouble for not claiming taxes. The officer told me that some company's do require sales tax even if someone lives out of state. I'm not sure.

-- I just hope you are willing to forgive me and the things which were said. I know you have the right to completely ignore me and not do anything I request, I just hope you can look at this with an open heart and understand that its honestly a pretty low blow of what you are trying to advertise to hurt my companys reputation compared to the sales tax thing which I would be more then happy to reimburce to you. I give up, I'm holding up the white flag, you win!! I have agreed to pay the full sales tax on your order out of my own pocket, and I will be happy to send you documents showing we paid the State of Utah for the tax on your order. I am claiming everything this quarter and will send you the documents which I'm sure you are doubting. Kenny, I know you are a young teenager, but if you were willing to honor my request and remove that web page http://www.laddmurdock.com , you will truly prove to me and everyone else how mature you really are for your age. I know you have nothing to prove, and I'm asking you this favor out of complete peace and cooperation. I truly do not want to have this thing prolonged, it has gone longer then its needed to be. If anything it gave you and your friends a good thing to talk about for the last little while in your chat forum. I just didn't want to be the discusion. After I read all of the conversations between you guys back and fourth it truly amazed me how much time you invested in talking about it back and fourth, and just seems like their are much better things to invest your time into. All the time and effort you spent on this, you could actually start your own business selling items with all of that desire and persistance you have demonstrated. If you ever decide, I have an excellent connection with some large distributors in China who basically can get any product that has potential to sell here inside the USA. They can get anything from: Callaway, Ping Golf clubs to Clothes, NIke Air Jordan shoes, Stereo equipment/speakers. Pretty much anything you need for dirt cheap prices and they are all the highest brand qualitys which you see here inside the USA. The reason I mentioned this, is because I would think that you could be a very usefull help for a business or company if you used all of your persistance and determination towards selling products on the internet and developing a webpage. Anyways, its just a thought. If you have a certain hobby, or if you are interested in certain products, please let me know what they are and I can talk with my buddy in China who can get them for 1/4 of what they cost here. This is not a bribe or anything, and you are free to do as you wish, I honestly feel you have good potential and could definately help a company. Anyways Kenny, please think about what I have asked you and if you could let me know what you have decided. Thanks bud. LM

Thank you for stepping up and emailing me, I appreciate it. I'm sorry you lost your friend, I lost a cousin a year and a half ago who was a twin and was four years old... it really crushed me and put a damper on my life since.

 

I'm also sorry that the tax thing became such a problem. It shouldn't of been this big of a deal, but I have a problem spending extra money on tax that I can't find anywhere online that it even exists yet. If I knew about a tax I probably wouldn't of even looked up the laws on it had it of been added to the total before you made the charge for the rims+spinners.

 

I would not mind removing laddmurdock.com if I can get the following:

- A new set of 12 x 1.5 locking lug nuts with the screws for the spinners (I don't want to take chances breaking other ones and some are rusting).

- A paper included with those lugs with something signed by you stating that I have a 3-year warranty and what the warranty entitles me to.

- The name of the manufacturer of my rims, I've been wondering for a while and can't seem to find their name.

I'm sick of all the crap, I got my rims and you tried to charge a non-existant tax (which Ladd admitted twice in his last two emails that it was a mistake on his part) without authorization to use the credit card, you then got mad and posted the credit card information and my personal information in an eBay auction (which, whether or not if it was Ladd or "Ladd's friend" it was illegal to forward my information to anyone) and now Ladd emailed me begging for me to take down the site and forum thread because I guess what, it's effecting your business, huh?

 

You want to threaten to sue me, GO DO IT THEN "BIG BOSS" - you have to come to Florida first, and you're going to lose. I have a solid case, and if I didn't have to fly to Utah I would've long sued your ***** already.

 

I replied to Ladd's email telling him how he can resolve this matter, and you have the audacity to reply to my email threatening to sue me?!? WHAT A JOKE.
