Any way to test this new sub?

I just got my 15' avalanche today, and it isnt ready to go in the car yet, but i really want to hear it, even if it isnt at full potential, i just wanna see it move! Is there any way i can have it free air, and hook it up to my stero inside? Its 800 watts surroundsound system, aiwa something... i just wanna know if its possable to connect it to that setup somehow with speaker wire, if so how would i go about doing that, just wire the the sub up like i would normaly do speakers?

There isnt any chance of hurting the sub doing this is there?

Are You being serious?

i know where the sub channel is, i figured that much, just im not sure how to change the ohms im running it at with this setup .. no gains or anything like that.. its just a recieved, with a tape deck, cd, tuner, etc...

Does your home theater setup have a powered sub output? Most of them don't, is why I ask. My rather aged Technics receiver has a dedicated subwoofer amp channel (in addition to an RCA output for a self-powered sub) which I am using my two 10" eXcelon subs on...but if all it has is an RCA output for a powered sub (like most) you won't be able to connect the new Av to it that way (unless you use that sub output as a source for an amp on some sort of power supply)

You don't know what an Ohm is do you...
Resistance is measured in ohms, the lower the better.. correct?

Also, i didnt mean "change" just meant simply i didnt know how to check what all of it was on the home theater setup...

Ok, all the outputs i have on this is as follows:

I have 1 "superwoofer" output, its just 1 thing to plug something into, not sure what goes on there...

4 speaker inputs, 2 right, 2 left

Video Aux

M.D

Line Out

Center Speaker

Surround Speakers (R & L)

Is there any way i can make this work?
