Any avid BOWLERS on the forum?

ok, so you avg. 237 on a league? how long was the league and what were ur other avgs in other leagues?
i mean either it was a very very simple shot or ur stupid for not at least making spare cash bowling in some amateur tournaments..... i mean i avg 215 and at least make some extra cash every week winning brackets, jackpots and what not.....

I carry a 224 and cant win any pots. All anybody wants to get into is the Handicapped pots. I can beat bowlers but I cant beat handicap.

thats why you bowl on real leagues....once you hit 200 avg you really should bowl on scratch leagues.....

Theres about 40 over 200 avg bowlers on the league and they dont want to do scratch pots. Theres a couple pots but not enough for my tastes. Theres only about 16 open bracket players.

im saying 237 is like pba tour status......im saying ur stupid for not bowling in some tournaments on the weekends for some extra dough....not sure when ur "hayday" was but hell you avg 230 now and im talking for 100 dollar entry youre talking 1500-5000 dollars for 1st place......not to mention the thousands you can win in brackets.....you should consider it......
ive got a friend on the tour now that avg 240 on leagues i bowled with him and hes making 6 figures on tour.......

theres so many different variables in bowling also so i mean one guy can avg 230 in one place and 190 in another......hence my comment of it was either a very easy house or again you should consider getting back into it..... or i call bs lol you make the call!! just busting ur balls

I actually know a couple amateur bowlers from back in the day and how hard it was to get where they are. I don't know your friend, but he must be a hell of a bowler to stay that consistant. That was my last league average and I don't do that all the time. I say from over the years I have been so up and down, but I usually stick around 210-220 average. If I was to go out now, it would be hard to hit 200 mark, lol! I have bowled in quite a few different houses, but when I was in the for giggles and shit leagues it was just one place per year just for fun that you made some money on the pots or cash prizes of other sorts when they would put up a neon pin and if you got it depending on the split you could make out pretty good. I **** at splits though.

I also have won a couple bowling balls as well, which was always nice. I at one time was carrying 6 balls in a time and would piss people off, so had to keep them in my bags. Funny thing was when my Cutlass was stolen a few years ago I lost most of the balls and they took one, yes one of my dexter bowling shoes. Must have been a 1 legged bowler. I lost my *** on not only the 5gs in stereo, 2gs in rims and the mint car but about 1000 bucks in bowling gear!

x2! Most of the bowlers in the last league I was in had a better average than me and made out come the pot or splits. They were some old times that could throw. Why were they there, just for a night out of fun and time away from the family. I really need to hit up another league.

yeah pretty much the norm now is to bring at least 4 balls....6 is a little overkill for a league night cause you pretty know what to expect! lol i bet ur balls ended up with the same fate as my cousins did......like 10 years ago his balls got stolen out of his cars because kids were rolling them down on ramps to the freeway....stupid *** kids.....

im not talking scratch pots i mean scratch league period.....the only handicap league ive bowled on since i turned adult is my sunday mixed couples league...and thats just so my girlfriend can bowl with me lol

with that many 200 avg bowlers i cant imagine no one wants to run brackets or eliminator? i dont know that ive ever been on a league that wasnt interested in running scratch pots with that many 200 avg's thats weird.

I did a scratch league and couldnt stand it all the people were asshats.I won a pot with a 265 and they harassed me for having that score. Saying I wasn't good enough for a 269. Even though I beat all of them. I have bowled on many pro pattern leagues even where the pro bowl here in MI. (Taylor Lanes)

I now mainly do it for fun just to get out of the house.

yeah there are some cocky ***** on some scratch leagues...thats what makes it fun when you beat em....im pretty humble when i bowl....im confident but not cocky.....

yeah and most of ur older guys do it so they got a night out away from the family....as of right now i just love the sport....used to bowl junior olympic when iw as a kid, multiple leagues a week......never truly applied myself to it until after high school cause i played so many other sports but still love to do it.....i see some guys i grew up bowling with bowling on tour and it makes me wonder what could of been......i should start practicing again! lol

i bowled on a pba experience league this summer and it really makes you have an appreciation for what those guys on sundays do!

havn't read the hole thread yet. but ii'm the head mechainc for one of the local bowling allies. needless to say, i have a ton of bowling equipment. at one time i had over 20 bowling ball, 3 pairs of shoes.. yadda yadda. but the nice thing bout working at one is i get everything dirt cheap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Least every mechanic I see coming out of there is covered head to toe in some grime.
