you get a plastic ball and learn to shoot spares with it and honestly it makes bowling a heck of alot easier.....when you hook at spares you gotta think about it just like you would ur strike ball.....you gotta figure where the oil is, revs, mark to hit....with a plastic ball it doesnt matter (for the most part) when i finally made the jump from hooking to going straight at spares my avg went up 15 pins in about 3 months.....that is if ur approach and release are consistent, it takes alot of guesswork out of spares.....i cant shot spares with plastic balls...my game involves hooking the ball whether its for a strike or for a spare. My 10 game revolves around almost missing the 10 pin because i hook it but i pick it up the majority of the time although it looks like it wont.
