Any advice?

Looks like you need to replace your wiring.Get a 4gauge wiring kit and have somebody install it for you.

that shouldn't be more than 90 bucks..

That would take care of some of the dimming.

And stay away from.

Sony, Pyramid, pyle, BOSS, performance tekniques, Nitro and all those flea market brands that'll only give distortion.
What wires do I need to replace. My dad and I were planning on replacing these with a thicker gauge: battery negative to chasis, alternator to battery positive, chassis to engine. But I dunno what gause to use. I dunno if he knows or not either. He went to school for car stuff but dropped out. He shocked himself on my battery one time Ha ha

Start by replacing the power wire from your battery to your amp/amps.

You don't need to get a bigger alternator unless you wanna go with a really big sub amp.

Anything else ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I would do that in 1/0 gauge its called the big 3. alt+ to batt +. alt- to chassis. batt - to chassis

I guess I dunno what 'really big' is or isn't. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif I was thinking along the lines of 1000 watts or something. I dunno what that wire is right now, but it is a pretty thick blue wire. My dad allways complains that he doesn't like it hooked up to the battery and he thinks we could hook it up elsewhere maybe because it doesnt fit on too good and the terminal keeps shaking loose.

Also, I was wondering if anyone knows, right now my subs are hooked up to my back speakers somehow I think. Would it be better if they were hooked up to the back of the stereo or something? or do I even make any sense?

I'm not really following you here //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

The subs should be hooked up to 1 amplifier.

and your speakers from the doors and rear panel to another amp. Or you can just run'em with you H/U.

You wanna run a 1,000 watt amp. ?

Yes, 1000 was what I was thinking, but I don't really know for sure. I don't have my speakers hooked up to another amp. I thought if I got a new amp I could use my 600 watt amp which is powering my subs right now to hook up to my speakers or something, but my boyfriend said no. He is the one who hooked up my subs and amp and he said something about he hooked something up to the back speakers, but that it probly out to be to the back of the cd player. I have no clue. I thought he said that he hooked up the subs to the back speakers. I dunno what he was talking about. Maybe he doesn't either. What is an H/U?

Don't worry princess . I'm here to help.

H/U means Head unit. (cd player).

What kind of amp do you have again ?

If the speaker or amps has lots of lights and looks pretty - do not buy it. If its at Best Buy Circuit City or HH Gregg its ok at best - better quality can be found for less online.

H/U = Head unit (radio)
