If the speaker or amps has lots of lights and looks pretty - do not buy it. If its at Best Buy Circuit City or HH Gregg its ok at best - better quality can be found for less online.

Ok.That amp is only putting out around 200 watts rms.

Which means continous power.

If you get that wiring kit I told you about should be more than enough to sound good.

Do you by any chance know how long is the ground wire to your amp ?

Is that the wire that is bolted in to the body of the car in the trunk? It's not too long. It is like two or three feet probly. Id hafta look. It doesn't go very far.

It shouldn't be longer than 1ft.

If it's more than 1 ft long your amp will be getting hotter than usual and end up shutting off.

For an amp check out JBL 601.1 - much better then what you have and you can find them for $200 shipped on ebay. You wont find a real 1000watt amp for your price range, just get a quality smaller amp

Kenwood makes good H/U's but I wouldn't reccomend their amps.

They use the MAX power to rate their amps not the RMS power.

Max power don't mean nothing. Look for RMS power.

if it says 1000 watts max, ignore that, the amount of watts you should look for is represented by RMS, thats the true output the amp will put out
