Yet it some how is a 1000 Watt amp??

It's one thing to dislike Kenwood but giving the ratings for output with a 12vdc input is a bit misleading, no?

Output @ 14.4vdc is significantly higher and CEA 2006 ratings compliant.

Is it a 1kW amp?

No.

Is Kenwood the first audio company to list peak ratings for marketing purposes?

One thing I know about Xplod amps is my 500watt amp did not like it when you bridged it, when a nice bass note would hit it would go into protect

In your case for saving money I would buy 2 10" Mach 5 MAW

The first diagram which would give you a 1 ohm final load and the amp is rated for 600 at 1 ohm,, Set your gains ( See tutorial on Gain setting under the Amplifier section of the forum,, click the only sticky) or just turn your gain level down a bit and dont turn it up far in your case lol.

255 is what I come up with which leaves 45 bucks for the subwoofers to be shipped ( Amp has free shipping from that site)

I saw they have 200amp alternators that will fit my car, but they cost like 460dollars. I was thinking maybe just getting a little more than the 105amp alt thats in my car now, but I don;t think that they make em. I couldn't find one anyhow.

nope. theres a 200a for a '94 2.2L, but my car is a '93 3.1L

Don't worry about the alternator until you get the wiring done and a better amp. Chances are the alternator you have will be fine.

I woas wondering... If i get a capacitor that should help protect the alternator anyways, right? Now, I imagine that selecting this is similarly confusing like everything else, and capacitors probly come in all different kinds and I will have to figure out what I need for that too? How do those work and how do you pick one?

how so? I read somewhere that a cap is to your electrical system what your shock absorbers are to your suspension.
