Another voltage drop question

Why does my voltage at my amp drop less with my trunk open? For example' date=' with my trunk closed voltage drops to 12.5, with my trunk open voltage only drops to 13.5. Voltage at my alt never drops below 13 volts, but I see voltages as low as 12.2 at my bass amp. What could I do to fix this?[/quote']
Check your impedence rise with the trunk open vs closed. That will probably tell the story.

There's no magical way to combat compression. You have to change your box design to do it so you have to make sure it's worth it.
Would a 4th order bandpass fix this since the subs wont be firing against the back of the trunk. Someone suggested this to me awhile ago.

well your gonna have box rise regardless of what box setup you make

box rise is caused by pressure(idk if im 100% right but its pressure mainly on the cone)

with your back seat up its gonna change the air space that the setup is working with, probably changing the box rise

test your amperage and your volts at the amp and find your box rise

I know how to test volts, how do I test for amperage, and what formula do I plug these #'s into to get my box rise? The subs being really close to the rear of the trunk wouldn't have anything to do with this? I was thinking of a 4th order because I think I could face the subs up and port through the rear deck. Im thinking that with the subs firing up through the port and not off of the rear of the trunk the subs would be able to move more freely. I may be wrong I dont design boxes.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

your correct. i have less rise with the back seats folded down. then less with the door open. the more you let your car "breath" the less impedence rise you will have

Cant let seats down. Gas tank back there. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

use a DMM to find the values then when u have the volts and the amps i believe you do

amps/volts=impedence

amps x volts=true watts
