Another voltage drop question

use a DMM to find the values then when u have the volts and the amps i believe you doamps/volts=impedence

amps x volts=true watts

ok I will do this when I get home Im out of town right now. I use a test tone to do this right? 50 or 60hz?

ya you use test tones, basically do full burps at whatever you would normally do it at while someone watches the instrument, have him switch the settings to find the other value and slam it again same exact way

I would do the big 3 upgrade. A cheaper upgrade.

The Big 3 consists of: Upgrading your power wire to your Alternator, upgrading your ground wire from your battery to chasis, and upgrading your ground from your engine block to chasis. I would go ahead and upgrade everything to 1/0 gauge wire, so in the future if you want to go bigger then you already have this part complete.

The name of the game is to cut down the resistance on your wire. Less resistance means more power.

Its been done for awhile. I didn't start having problems until I upgraded amps. I don't think my alt can keep up. I will probably get a mechman if he still has them on sale for my car.

finally got my problem somewhat solved. my trunk wasn't sealed from where I had to bend the trunk lid to get my box in. I bent the trunk lid back the way it was, tapped another hole and replaced the bolt that was stripped out holding the trunk lid down. The problem was that my trunk wasn't sealed and I was loosing a lot of air from the leak. this caused it not to be as loud in the cabin, so I turned the gain up a little higher to compensate; this in turn cause cause the amp to clip and draw more current causing my voltage drop a lot. Also added a slightly smaller pulley. Holding ~12.8 at my bass amp now. Should be higher but I'm satisfied. It's also noticeably louder. Might still go with another alt down the road though.
