I think im misunderstanding something here... with a ported box, isnt the air NOT supposed to exit the port? or is the sub supposed to force the air out?

From what I recall its just supposed to be an air cushion, ofcourse its going to move but not a whole lot. Until you dip below tuning freq anyway. That sound right? lol or have I just forgotten?

The box looks sick btw.

Man that truck looks too nice to put a box like that in there..

I wish it would have fit under the seat, but not much room there. So I went all out.

Maybe one day I will swap it for something stealth. For now I am happy with it the way it is.

I bet you'll notice a slight gain in pressure on the drivers side.

I can't. The front wall overhangs and it not level on the bottom in order to accommodate the hump on the floor.

I remembered our convo about this from a while back when I was designing this box. But the kid sits back there in that little seat and she loves to throw her bookbag on top of the sub box (there isn't much room in the back for her to put it elsewhere). So the port goes on her end since she cant F up a port like she can the sub.

On Alan Jackson I didn't really let it rip till the final note. Neighbors were around.

The last bit is kinda cool since you can see how the rear wall is flexing by watching the shadow move.

Yes, the air exits the port. However, you should ideally want the box's airspace to help damp the speaker. If you fire the air directly into the port, you usually don't allow it to happen optimally. Having it in the "crook" of the port allows the sub to work better in whatever the Vb happens to be.

Sweet..........Getin my Massive DMX in the am and hookin it up to my Lanzar 4000D and it will be in a 4.0 tuned to 35ish with 80 squares of port.............Cant wait
