Android Audio Question

Ok. So, here's the issue. I have a 2003 Tahoe with the factory Bose system. Also, it does not have OnStar. With that said, I would like to listen to the music on my Samsung Galaxy S3. Bluetooth is not an option, because music over Bluetooth loses quality. I have found two devices that I would like to use to make this work. However, I am lost as to what I should use in between these devices to complete the connection. The first thing I would like to use is this.

I plan on modifying the USB cable so that it will utilize all 4 wires inside, the 2 power wires and the 2 data wires. As far as how I plan to hook to the radio, I was going to use something like this.

My problem is that I don't know what I need in between. I know that the FM modulator uses analog audio. And, I believe, the audio coming from the bottom of the S3 is going to be digital. So, I was wondering if I would need some kind of DAC(digital-to-audio converter). Now, I know you might be asking why I don't just plug into the headphone jack at the top. I don't want to have to do that. I want to be able to just drop my phone in the cradle and be done with it. Then, when I'm ready to get out of the Tahoe, I just grab my phone and go. I don't want to have to deal with anything else. Now, I know there has to be a way to make this work. Unfortunately, my search has not yielded anything as of yet.

The bottom line is that I want to be able to drop the phone in the cradle and have it charge as well as play the music through the head unit without having to plug any other cables into the phone. Any help you can give will be very much appreciated. Thank you. Also, sorry for the weird link thing I had to do. The dumb forum wouldn't let me link the right way.

Get a HU with AUX... with proper harness it will fit into factory bose and you wont have any problem. also 100x easier than trying it your way, some HUs also have places to put your phone while charging it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Digital audio out of an Android device is not ready for mainstream yet. Your phone might not be capable of offering digital audio out. I don't claim to be an expert on this but I use Bluetooth to stream audio from my Motorola Droid RAZR to a Clarion head unit and it sounds excellent. You're going to be sending audio into a Bose factory system anyway.
