Adding a digital voltmeter

I just picked up a cheap digital voltmeter (tested and it reads accurate) that i want to add to my system but i cant find a concise answer on where is the best place to run the wires in my system. ive read people run the wires to amp power input, to the battery, to the fuse box, or to some random 12V source. The meter is the kind with only two wires so i have no ignition wire but i do have switches that i can run to toggle it if i need to.

So the short and simple question, where should i hook up my digital voltmeter?

Wire it into the place where you want the most accurate reading from.. So if you're trying to see voltage at the amp, wire it into your amp or your rear battery..
