Hey there guys

Just yesterday I had a pioneer double din bh1600. I'm using my factory volvo amplifier to run the stock speakers as well as an alpine amp to run an 8in sound queped. Everything sounded great and I had absolutely no noise..

Well I put in a newer alpine ilx 007 car play and put all it turns on no problem BUT I have absolutely terrible noise coming from the speakers.

I DID READ THE STICKIED THREAD ALREADY

It changes with engine rpm but it is also present when the engine is off and the radio is on. What weird is even with my pioneer the speakers made noise until I plugged the rcas into the preouts.

Also, I re-put the pioneer in and no noise. I'm at a loss. Any advice would be appreciated.

So basically, no noise with a pioneer but tons of noise with the alpine.

Edit:

Do you guys think it could be because the alpine only has 2v preout? The alpine I believe was 6v. And also, whats the deal with the differenct voltages?

hook stereo directly to isolated 12v battery and connect a random speaker out of the car to it.

Test to make sure the headunit isnt bad first.

Sounds like the brands use different noise filters. You may have always had an issue, it was just more filtered with pioneer.

Perhaps ground loop being caused from headunit ground.

You could also run a temp wire from headunit ground to battery and see if it fixes it. Add-on wire, not replacement.

Will the first test work even though I'm using an amp to run my speakers?

I'm going to try the ground thing right now. Thank you. Also, what about grounding the rcas? Is that something that might help even though this isnt a pioneer?

As shizzon says you should isolate each device to determine if it is the device itself or from the vehicle/device connection, etc.

Test the head unit itself then if there is no noise you can add the amp and test again to determine that the head unit/amp combination results in clear music without noise or noise is introduced.

If no noise then you know the head unit and amp is not the problem.

Check to make sure all power wiring and grounds are properly connected, same with all signal wires and signal wires/cables are not near any power wires, etc.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Update:

Well I said screw it and did an amp bypass. I also went ahead and did a parking brake switch. I think it all came out really well actually. Sound quality as absolutely amazing even without the amplifier running the 10 stock speakers. I'll do a review on the headunit shortly. Thanks for the help guys
