An Electrical Engineering Degree

Because my parents are good friends with a couple PT's and my gf was either going to be a PT or PA, but decided on PA because of what I told you. Doctors and PT's are starting to be in less demand because physical therapy assisstants and physician's assisstants can do the exact same job for cheaper. Instead of a practice having like 6 Doctors and a few PA's or a PT practice having 6 PT's and a few PTA's, they are starting to lean towards one or two main docs or PT's with more PA's and PTA's.

With the engineering, I'm finishing up my third year as a Mechanical Engineer. Electrical Engineering is the toughest of all the engineering focuses and ME is straight ridiculous as is. By having the attitude such as, "Uhhh I think I'm going to be an electrical engineer or wait...maybe something else that pays a lot..." is going to lead you to a rude awakening. Basically what I am saying is that unless you are just a super genius, it is going to be VERY tough. Engineering is pure stress and shiit tons of work, but it'll get easier (not easy) after you pass all of your science and math classes. And to mention, at my school, the passing rate for most of our math and science classes to get just a D is around 50%. Keep in mind, you need at least a "C" in your core classes i.e. engineering, math, and science or you will have to retake the class until you get a C.

They must not have Aerospace engineering around where you live...

Electrical engineering (EE) really isn't a great major. Mechanical (ME) or Aero (AE) will give you a sufficient overview of EE, you'd only want to go into EE if you want to either become a professor or EE, or help with certain aspects of circuit design and manufacture. If you want to actually work with computers, go into computer science of some sort, if you want to work with cars, ME or go to an automotive school. If you want to do things like repair amplifiers, there are different ways to get into electronics repair. EE is really good as a minor to back up another degree like AE or ME or even as a second major, not the greatest major by itself.

If you want to go for the money look at Petroleum or Nuclear engineering. They are going to be the top paid engineers.

I just got a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and just got a job recently. From what I saw when job searching systems engineers were in pretty high demand. There were a lot of job opening for them and some for electrical engineers as well.

Edit: Some schools are offering a combination of electrical and mechanical engineering degrees. A lot of employers want engineers that have good knowledge in electrical and mechanical subjects.

Well, I had my visit today and it just kinda solidified my decision in attending LSU next fall and majoring in Kinesiology. I am already accepted and everything is lined up, I've just gotta figure out my residency so I only pay out of state one year.
