Amps for 2 Mags

so if someone needs an amp that does 1500+ at .5ohms, you do not recommend your amp...unless the subs are SI mags?
I officially do not recommend it if you are concerned with full 2 year limited warranty coverage. For that matter, you void the warranty on the IA 20.1 at 0.5 ohms as well, and people do that all the time. Read the warranty text for any company, they don't cover out of spec operation under warranty.

Being that most folks buy from e-bay on a daily basis with no concern for warranty anyway, it's probably not an issue for them. And for that matter, no matter what you do with the amp provided you can still mail in the remains you still get the 5 year discounted replacement offer mentioned in the warranty information -- whereby if you break if out of warranty you get a discount on a replacement unit.

So... the answer is this:

If you care about warranty coverage, then no I don't recommend it to folks looking for a 0.5 ohm stable amplifier to power non-SI subwoofers.

If you have no regard for full warranty coverage then by all means it will more than likely never give you a problem wire at 0.5 ohms, but since I have NOT tested them with every woofer on the market I won't guaratee it and you void the 2 year limited warranty. Again, this is true with ANY amplifier company out there -- if you hook up a load out of spec they won't guarantee it, thats what specs are for -- to tell you what the unit has been proven to do.

****

Maybe I'm just not getting it. But I am offering EXTRA warranty protection compared to what most companies offer when you run their product out of spec and folks are talking about it like it's somehow taking something away from them. No, it's not, but it only ADDS under certain circumstances which I have extensive experience with and feel that I can guarantee.

Anyone else got any more oppinions on what amp?
Hey, just wanted to let you know I wired my SAZ-1500d down to .5, and honestly it works just as well as the 20.1. It really seems just as strong to me at .5 as any amp I have ever worked with, and I have worked with a LOT of amps. The 20.1 being one of them.

Not to mention, if anything were to happen Sundown has a replacement plan, and they will replace it for a VERY low price. But I hightly doubt it would even come to that.

Also, I would never suggest an amp that I thought would break. I hate dealing with warranty info, and it would just be 10 times easier for me not to sell it in the first place. Honestly, I wouldn't say that mine handled it well, unless it REALLY had no problems at all.

Umm OK Im not so sure about the whole OHMs thing... Anyone wanna give me a quick review of what OHMs mean? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I just wanted to hear it from you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. IMO, why buy direct after a while...if you're getting no warranty. Might as well find a used one and go with it.

Does the replacement deal go on anyone with an amp or is it only valid to those who purchased it direct? How much does the replacement amp cost? That could be a good selling point //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

There are also a couple other advantages with going with a dealer. The biggest being you know you will get a brand new in perfect condition amp. The warranty is a big part of it, but in the larger picture it is only a very small part of why you go with a dealer.

Other reason are, you know you won't get scammed, you are gettng an amp that will be in perfect physical condition, and workng condition, also if there is a manufacturers defect, it will be fixed. Also, you only get the cheap replaceable amp if you bought from a dealer, I highly doubt that will be transfered from one person to another.

Not to mention you also get the pleasure of working with great people like myself;)

Just playing on that last comment, but all the others are good reasons on why it is better to by brand new instead of used.

So, you're not a pleasure to work with?
