Amps for 2 Mags

That doesnt seem right. Either your product can handle the .5 ohm load, or it cant. Not really fair to have it warrantied only if you use a certain brand of subs.......

Having said that, of course its your company, so its your call.
i think thats jakes way of saying that he feels confident that the amps are stable below 1 ohm. however, he is only going to warantee the amp for failures due to under impedance if said failure is caused by the woofer brand that jake has a marketing agreement with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

kind of an incentive program between two companies //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'd get the IA 20.1 for the pair of Mags, to the original poster.
agreed, i thought about the same thing for a setup

2mag and a ia20.1 but the 20.1 may not happen since my PA will work for the application

They have been tested extensively at 0.5 ohms on Stereo Integrity woofers and therefore I will warranty them at this load on these speakers. The amplifier is only rated to handle 1 ohm loads in the specifications in the first place, it is a byproduct of the overbuilt nature of the amplifier that it handles 0.5 ohms at all -- a safety net if you will.

It is stable at a 0.5 ohm load and has been extensively tested on SI woofers which I happen to have years of hands on experience with to begin with, so I decided to guarantee it on these woofers only. If I wanted to do warranty coverage at 0.5 ohms for everyone that load would appear on the official spec sheet. It really is as simple as that.

I didn't imagine that extending extra coverage under warranty would be stepping on anyones toes! As Hollis mentioned, I have been associated with SI since 2002 and therefore I am very familiar with how their products behave so I am confident in pairing my product with theirs at a load that exceeds the regular specifications of the amplifier.

so if someone needs an amp that does 1500+ at .5ohms, you do not recommend your amp...unless the subs are SI mags?
no. if someone needs 1500+ at 1 ohm, he recomends his amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . if someone needs ~2000+ at .5 ohm, he does not recomend his amp, unless the subs are SI Mags OR BM's.

is the same dang thing lol

lol, its the same, but different... in one case, you can do it and be covered under warranty, in the other case you can do it and not be covered.

its the golden rule, he who has the gold, makes the rules.

and in this case, the gold is the sundown amplicator. and jake seems to have the gold //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif .

I'm not gonna argue about the man's business choice, its his company...not mine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. I just wanted to get this out in the open and get a reply from him. Cuz I don't wanna see people recommending this amp to folks who need one that does power @ .5ohms. Unless its an SI, of course.

i would suggest it to someone who wanted power at .5 ohm. im not affiliated with the company, but i think it has no problem running beliw one ohm. i havent tested the limits of safety for lower impedances, but i think .5 ohm is safe. however, should the amp fail, its not under warranty.

but, i think as long as you dont go crazy, you shouldnt have a problem. only woofers i could possibly see having an issue, are XBL^2 woofers, or any variation of that technology that keeps impedance rise to a minimum.

Imo if the manufacturer tells you not to buy his item for a certain install...then dont //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Which is why I'm still waiting for his answer to my question //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

just tell people buy it to run at .5 if you want a voided warranty for not having the right subs
For some reason that made me  //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

To the OP you could prolly get a kx2500 for under $500, maybe a 20.1. You missed the $400shipped sale on them //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
