Amp wired to ignition??

I took an amp and sub to Circuit City to have them install it. I have an 05 Honda Civic with the factory in-dash cd changer. It seems like they wired the amp to the ignition- it turns on when I start the car. The problem I am having, is that when the stereo is OFF, I start to hear bass when I go over bumps, and then the sub starts to push hard bass constantly and does not stop until I turn the stereo ON. It does this if I'm in Park and just rev the engine a bit also, but once I turn the stereo ON it stops. Any idea what the issue is?

I called them and they said they could install a switch that I would manually turn the amp on and off with. This sounds like a band aid to me. Is it normal to wire it to the ignition?

What kind of amp is it?

Because there is no rcas on the back of your factory radio to run to, so they used a LOC. The power should be ran under the hood to your battery? What is connected to the ignition?

But yes it sounds like a ground problem, probably loose. Just take it back they will fix it.

Thats what im thinking, its a vague description though. Either way if its cutting out take it back they will fix it. How old is the amp also?

My amp's remote turn on is wired to my ignition, but I don't have a head unit. (carpc) haven't noticed any problems. Your noise is caused by a bad install of the amp, probably a grounding issue like others have said.

If it was wired to your stereo it wouldn't fix the problem, it would just make it less noticable since the noise would only occur when the HU was on.
