i recently purchased an amp and some subs from my friend and all i need is the wires. I have never messed with an amp before so i dont know what wire size i need. i have seen some that say they are for 1500 watts. the amp i have is the DB bass inferno BI2500DX a 2500 watt amp

Why not get those wires and such from the same freind that sold you the amp and subs?

While he's at it, ask if he'll install if for ya and you can watch/learn how.

well he wants to keep the wires because he wants to get another amp. Ive been looking at the specs of the amp and it says that it has a RMS of 1250 watts at 4 ohms and 2500 watts at 2 ohms. The amp is already wired to two subwoofers

Not 2500, not 1250. Not sure how you determined those are RMS ratings -- I have seen nothing clearly stating RMS.

What I do see in photos is a pair of 30A fuses. That amp probably can't do 600w rms w/o excessive clipping.

A cheap 4 awg kit would be more than adequate.

A GOOD 8 awg kit would also get it done.

DB drives side company...

That amp will take max 4 awg wire.

Its actual specs listed are

- 2500 watts rms peak

- 2000 watts at 2 ohms

- 1250 watts at 4 ohms

Expect 1200-1300 watts at 2 ohms and 700-800 watts at 4 ohms.

get 4 guage ofc (oxygen free copper) there is some cheap wire at sky high car audio or you can get a pre-made kit

if you are running 4 ohms copper clad aluminum cable might cut it and this amp doesn't seem to be stable at 1 ohm

the site says the specifications are

4 Ohms @ 14.4 Volts - 1 x 1250 Watts

2 Ohms @ 14.4 Volts - 1 x 2000 Watts

I would expect a little under these numbers

No. Don't.

With a pair of 30's 1200's NEVER going to happen.

Correction -- a LOT.

In reality with those fuse rating it would be 840+ on a perfect efficiency setup, but in this case any amp can surpass its fuse rating with music.

But thank you for trying to correct me.
