So you're saying, don't buy any of these brands, or at least don't buy their low-end models. Am I reading you?

Yes that is correct. I got a few 4ch amps im going to list here soon. I have 1 or 2 posted in my last for sale thread

Coincidentally --

Autotek and Crunch are both maxxsonics brands and very similar (if not identical) on the inside.

Same thing with Power Acoustik and Soundstream/PPI -- all sibling brands. SS/PPI do offer some higher priced stuff that's better than Pwr Ac, but their cheap stuff is very similar.

Soundstorm is a Boss Audio sibling. I would generally avoid them.

I've owned a Pwr Acoustik amp in the past and has perfectly happy with it. It was over-rated as expected, but did what I expected it to do.

The only thing I have against A'tek and Crunch is their ratings are intentionally unclear. Just go by fuse size and you should be fine. I put an A'tek in for a friend to run a single sub set up and it has worked really well -- not a bad amp for $60. I think it has a pair of 30A fuses. Runs bridged at 4 under a seat. Hasn't given him any trouble at all.

Not personally familiar with RE. General opinion seems to be that their low end stuff is on the low end Hifonics level.

IMO any of them except SSL are decent options if you're looking for something on a tight budget.

Hey man, this is great info. I always wonder if the low end are all made in the same factory and mounted to different heatsink styles. BTW I ended up buying a refurbished Polk Audio PA660 from the factory. $80.
