amp to sub matching

hey guys,
would it be ok to hook a duel 4 ohm 800w rms T7 soundstream sub to a 950w rms soundsteam amp that is 950 at 2 ohms. just wondering how much of a difference in wattage you can have before it will do damage
- Overpowering subs successfully with reliability depends on a lot of factors, but one of the biggest will be the enclosure... The enclosure will make or break you when it comes to power & output... Why not just set your gain properly with a DMM for 800 rms so you won't be overpowering it to begin with?

If the sub really handles 800W RMS then a 950W RMS amp at 2 ohms should not be a problem if you aren't clipping the signal. Put the sub in a recommended box and set the gains correctly.
