I'm looking to replace my amp in my 03 S Type this week and I was wondering what would be the best amp to replace it with? I've sent out PM's and have contacted locals for both JL 500/1 and 1000/1 amplifiers. I had a previous 500/1 that was on there before, but I was considering moving up to either a 750/1 or the 1000/1. But I just wanted to ask to make sure because 1000/1 kinda hit pretty high up on the recommended power scale. I'm concerned that the 1000/1 may end up shortening the life of my setup so I thought I'd ask first. Bear in mind that my car sees a lot of highway miles, so I want something that can survive the 8 - 12 long drives without risking overheating or blowing anything. I'm not a big car audio person so I don't know for sure, I just got my JL setup for a good deal from a friend- but I wanted something that's going to make some noise when I'm out on the road.
