amp/subs cutting out.

cant seem to figure this one out so maybe you guys can help.

my buddie has 2 08 l7 12's in a kicker vented box; off an alpine mpr-m1000; pio premier headunit; monster 4 gauge kit; the everything is grounded/hooked up right.

heres the issue. if you turn the volume up slowly to 30-35 the subs continue to bump till you try to turn the gain up; 50% of the time it lets you and keeps bumping, the other 50% the second you touch the gain the amp pops into protect.

if you leave the gains set at about half and turn the headunit volume up fast from 0-35 it pops into protect. no popped fuses, nothing else; no funny smells, not running hot nothing...?

i really dont know wtf this could be, the impediance of the subs is right where they should be so i know its not an issue with them, could it be a battery/voltage issue? thats about the one thing i didnt check was voltage at the batt. and at the amp.

Check the voltage at the amp. I bet the amp is going into protect because the voltage is too low. If you find a low voltage, disconnect your batt and check its voltage to see if it reads around 12.6v.

I'm guessing your batt is going bad... Autozone will be able to test it too.

Here are your possible issues:

1) Low voltage

2) Bad ground

3) Loose connection

4) Incorrect sub wiring

You need to check each of these. Do not assume they are right. Make sure they are. If you are unsure, ask.

k. will check and double check; the sub wiring i know 110% is right because that was the first thing i checked/ re did.
