Hey guys, first post, don't know what been done to death so dont flame me too hard.
First of all, i can read a diagram and have a very rudimentary understanding of how stuff works, but not really. Heres my situation. I bought a old bmw with a pretty nice, older aftermarket system in it. The guy i bought it from took the subs but left the amp. The amp is a a Soundstream Rubicon 1002. I threw an old diesel 10 i had lying around in it, tuned it, pretty straight foward, sounded fine. I recently got a more modern deck, and i got to thinking, i should upgrade that sub. Looked around, finally decided on The infinity 100.9w kappa. Now, I cant figure out how to wire it.
The speaker handles 350 rms, 1400 peak. The amp, well, so many option. Id like to get about 400rms to the speaker at the proper impedence level but i just dont know enough about. Its the 2ohm, 4ohm switch/3voice coil business on the speaker thats throwing me off. Heres the link to the amps specs.
Soundstream Rubicon 1002 User Manual (Page 21 of 21)
Now keep in mind the speaker has a 2 ohm or four ohm switch(i dont kinow what that really means) Bottum line, what the best way to do it?
sorry for the ramble, any help would be appreciated.
