Amp sub help

I'm pretty new to this so bear with me. I have installed an amp & a pair of subs. But for whatever reason I am not getting any sound from the subs.

Remote wire is hooked up(i get an LED when i turn the head unit on)

My RCA's are hooked up

I verified that the subs work

no blown fuses

What am I missing? What if any voltages should I have?

12 volts or higher at the amp. Check the deck for a sub control other than that. Start checking wires
