amp/sub help plz.

first off here is my system:

pioneer 6400cd indash monitor

memphis 1500d

2 memphis m3 subs

heres my problem i was getting a wierd noise from the sub. its not noticable when the music is playing but when you mute or pause the hu it is definately annoying. So i thought it was a problem with the amp so my local dealer sent it in and it came back as checked out ok. so i decided to buy new rca cables cuz i had cheap ones in there and now nothing comes through the sub with the volume up. So then i decided to try n ground out the rca's b/c i seen that pioneers have grounding issues and when i do this the sub/amp works but there is the annoying noise agian... i put another cd player in and everything worked fine and no noise so i know it is the headunit..but i just wondered is there anyway to fix my problem or should i just buy a new headunit...and has n e one else experienced this problem before? thanks for any input/advice that can be given.
