Amp setup question.

Here is my question:

Right now I have an Eclipse EA4000 4 ch. amp running Crsytal SSX615's in the front. The speakers are getting 75 watts RMS. I have crappy pioneers in the back getting the same amount of power. I was thinking about buying some Crystal SSCS 6's for the front and putting my crystal ssx615's in the back because ive heard SO MANY GOOD THINGS about SSCS6's. Now, my problem would be, I would only be giving the SSC6's 75 watts, when they can take around 200. I could bridge my amp down to 2 channels to give them 150 watts, however I wouldn't have anything for my rears. That brings me to this. I have a 4 channel alpine amp that does 40 watts rms x 4, however it does over 180 x 2 bridged and will kill my ssx615's.

Is there a way to have my alpine hooked up without the front two channels, and my eclipse hooked up bridged? I'm not sure if that would be a good idea to run 2 4 channel amps for 2 sets of speakers.

Does your headunit have an internal amplifier?

If so, I would just bridge the Eclipse to the Crystal, and run the rear speakers off of the headunit.

But yes, you could just use 2 channels of the Alpine. You do not need to use every channel of the amplifier.

I have an eclipse cd3000

i think the rms is like 14 lol

I guess I can run it off the Hu, but i just figured it would distort like crazy if i turned up my sound to like 65

Fade to the front, so that the rears don't have much output.

All the rears really should be doing is adding just a touch of fill for the rear seat passengers.

Ok. Would this setup be worth spending the extra $200 on new front speakers? Are the SSC's better then the SSX's in SQ?

If you aren't happy with your current front speakers...then sure.
