Amp recommendation for specific car

I have a '96 Camaro, and alot of people tell me that I don't need alot of power for the subs for it to sound good since the subs are in the hatch aiming towards the glass, is this right? I'm getting 2 ID10 v.3 D2 wired @ 2 ohms. I'm getting the box made, either going with a .4 to .6 cu. ft each side, how much of a difference will I hear between the 2? I listen to only metal, so I'm mainly wanting to hear the fast beats and drums. They subs are 250 RMS, and right now I'm looking at the MTX 421D, or the 801D. Will the 421D be enough? in my opinion---you pick the amp to compliment the subs and enclosure design.. if your subs don't need alot to sound good---ask around to see who's running those subs and ask how much power they're pushing. some subs need more than others.

In my opinion what they said is true to a particular point however, do get an amp that is matched closely to your subs just so you will have the power when you want it. But I will vouche for the f-bods and say that they have excellent acoustical properties. Every f-bod with subs ive ever been in no matter what the size or type of subs it literally always took my breath away. Camaros and Firebird are excellent cars for system due to their great acoustical qualities.

Well, I don't know if I should get the 801D, just in case I decide to "grow" later on with different subs, or if I should buy the 421D or a Memphis MC-500D and be done with it.
