I have a 1000 watt metric audio amp and i have 2 12 in alpine r types. They are not hooked up and have not been hooked up. I am trying to hook it up through the high input wire and everytime i touch the power wire to the amp the fuse blows... I ahve everything hooked up the same way i had it hook up the first time i had it hooked up and ican't figure out why it does that...If you have any ideas email me or answere it back please!!!!!!!!! DVSMIK74@aol.com thank you...Mike

Wow, WAY more info is needed. When is it blowing fuses, as soon as the amp turns on or only when you turn it up loud? What speakers do you have connected to it, and how are they connected? What are your gain and bass boost settings?

I had this amp hooked up before running two tens and it was great then the tens got stolen so i took out the amp so it wouldn't get stolen now i am trying to put it back in so i can run the R Types. But i can't get the the power wire to stop doing that could there be something wrong with the amp...

It could be that you either have the gain turned up too high, you have the Type-Rs wired to an impedence below what the amp can safely handle, or the amp is fucked up. Is it blowing as soon as the amp powers on, or only after you turn it up? Does it blow fuses without the subs connected?

the speakers aren't even connected and then the power isn't even on and it is just when the power wire touches the 12v terminal that it does that and i don't know why. I am hoping that the amp is not ****ed up because i just got it and yeh i don't have any money to buy a new one...LOL...But yeh the speakers are not even hooked up....So then what do i do...

the only time this blows is when the power wire and the ground are hooked up at the same time....i can hook the power wire up without the ground and it won't blow and then when i hook up the ground it blows.. I don' t know what the hell i going on and yeh it is frustrating me....

well i now know what is going on it is the power terminals that are bad or at least that is was the people at a local stereo shop said and i think that they are good enough that i can trust them so i wam going to send it back hoping that the warranty is still good because i need that amp and i don't want to be out of the money.....
