amp problem

k , so i installed my amp and sub into my truck today , worked great for a few hours, then next thing ya know it overheated, yea i was bumpin it good, but when it overheated in the eclipse i just shut it off for 10mins and it was back to perfect order. had this amp 2 years and never let me down.

so anyways , now it just turns on protection about 2 seconds after i turn the key on , even when the amp is fully cooled down.

i tried playing with the grounding, nothing, i took out the speaker output wires thinking maybe something blew inside the sub , and was causing the output wires to touch. nothing. checked the 12+ wire, got power.... the remote wire is obviously working beacuse the amp is turning on/off at the turn of the key.

on this one im just stumped, i guess ill play with it in the morning , any ideas tho ???

i forgot to add , i tried changing channels , its a 4 channel amp , with a bridge for a 1 10" woofer.

from my recolecttion , the amp light wont even come if there is a bad ground.

take a dmm. Put it on the ground a power see what you read. Measure the voltage on your speaker terminals as well. Measure the subs VCs as well
